Sometimes the best ideas start with an out-of-control hobby

Founders of Brewery Ardennes

Shortly after they both graduated from Cornell University, Derek Edinger started to make beer as a weekend hobby from his day job as an aerospace engineer.

Soon, he was buying larger equipment and experimenting with new recipes. Friends liked his creations and he won some state and national homebrewing awards.

Derek convinced his wife, Stacey, that his beermaking would greatly improve if they visited beer destinations. She didn’t need much convincing as a Cornell Hotelie!

In a historic sheep barn well over a century old, Derek and Stacey Edinger of Brewery Ardennes, are making their craft beverage dreams come true, and in the process, bringing a valuable new experience to the Finger Lakes.
